City won’t appeal adverse strip-club ruling
Athens city officials indicated Friday that they are giving up the fight in state court over a proposed strip club on Stimson Avenue.
In a news release, Law Director Pat Lang announced that the city code office and Board of Zoning Appeals would comply with a recent decision by Athens County Common Pleas Judge L. Alan Goldsberry, which cleared the way for the nude-dancing club to open.
If the city wanted to fight the ruling in the 4th District Court of Appeals, it had to file an appeal by Friday; it chose not to.

“The preserved cadaver of a ten month old Lycanthrope, discovered by Edward Harrell, 1836, Lida.”
This infant was 10 months old, and died from starvation. Edward found this specimen buried in the snow in Lida, Lithuania. One side of the specimen was crushed by the weight of the body, although the body is in a good state of preservation. The skin is almost all intact, as are its teeth, even tiny whiskers on its face.
