City won’t appeal adverse strip-club ruling
Athens city officials indicated Friday that they are giving up the fight in state court over a proposed strip club on Stimson Avenue.
In a news release, Law Director Pat Lang announced that the city code office and Board of Zoning Appeals would comply with a recent decision by Athens County Common Pleas Judge L. Alan Goldsberry, which cleared the way for the nude-dancing club to open.
If the city wanted to fight the ruling in the 4th District Court of Appeals, it had to file an appeal by Friday; it chose not to.
